Regime recaptures village near Aleppo

beirut - The Syrian army has driven the group Islamic State with the help of allies from the village of Soran east of Aleppo. Soran is located 16 kilometers southwest of the city al-Bab, which opponents of President Bashar al-Assad with the support of the Turkish army IS try to conquer.

Turkey has long supported opponents of Assad. But it continued its warplanes, tanks and special forces since last summer primarily to keep away from IS terrorists from its border and prevent Kurdish groups could forge their territories at the border.

After the rebels a cease-fire mediated by them controlled part of Aleppo had to retire in December, Turkey and Assad's ally Russia. Their extension will be further discussed Monday in Kazakhstan.
