amsterdam - The Dutch internet exchange AMS-IX Sunday put a new record in the books. Around 20.30 clock processed junction 5 terabits per second (Tbps).

The large amount of data is primarily due to the explosive increase in Internet traffic. In one year, the crowds increased by about 19 percent. Incidentally, it is no problem for AMS-IX for the new record to tighten in the coming period. Currently, the node equipped about 20 Tbps. The growing market for online video verstookte the amount of data will still further increase in the coming years.

AMS-IX is one of the most important and best maintained Internet hubs in the world.
