'Reception of migrants at two US military bases'

washington - The US military is preparing for the reception of immigrants at two military bases in Texas. US government sources said that the intention is to set up temporary camps on Fort Bliss and the Goodfellow Air Force Base.

An encampment would be set up in Fort Bliss for families whose parents wait for criminal prosecution because they illegally entered the US. At the Goodfellow Air Force Base, care would be arranged for children who crossed the border without parent. Minister of Defense Jim Mattis had said before that there would be shelter on two military bases, but he did not say which locations are involved.

President Donald Trump last week put an end to the controversial policy of separating children from illegal immigrants from their parents after arrival in the US and to detain them separately. Illegal immigrants with children will also be given priority in the completion of the procedures.
