Rare picture Rodin under the hammer

- At Sotheby's in New York auctioned a rare sculpture of Auguste Rodin on 9 May. It is a marble version of L'Eternel Printemps, representing two lovers in an embrace.
Sotheby's estimates that
The statue, which dates from 1901/1902 and from a single block of marble carved, will yield between 8 and 12 million dollars (7 to 10.5 million). It is the first time in twenty years there appears a marble statue by Rodin in the market.
Other versions of L'Eternel Printemps can be found in, inter alia, the Hermitage in St. Petersburg and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
