to direct - The National Museum of Antiquities in Leiden has built a database in collaboration with Google and the Dutch software company SynerScope which it is possible to search the online collection quickly. The search time is reduced to a few hours instead of days. Moreover, all kinds of scientific studies that were previously impossible.

According to the National Museum of Antiquities was often time-consuming research. The databases were different in design, limited searchable and not linked to each other. Egyptologist Heleen Wilbrink came up with a proposal to the museum to change that. 'That can be done differently at a time when artificial intelligence and machine learning no longer science fiction,' said Wilbrink. Museum director Wim Weijland supported the plan. 'A well-organized database, we can connect in the future to those of other national and international museums and that brings us more knowledge.'

SynerScope built the software to link data and databases. The service runs on the Google Cloud Platform. According to André Hoekzema Google shows a test of the National Museum of Antiquities that research can and perhaps other museums and scientists can benefit from this faster.
