PvdA'er Tang on taxvisite at Bono

brussels (anp) - MEP Paul Tang (PvdA) wants to symbolically return the Dutch letterbox company from Bono to the U2 singer next week in Ireland.

The Irish band has for years taxed for tax reasons through an office on the Amsterdam Herengracht, but that may come to an end.

The Dutch government has promised to prevent such constructions by levying a withholding tax on interest and royalties.

Bono will start to feel that, Tang thinks, and will have to come up with something else. Whether the singer wants to receive the PvdA'er at his home is still unclear. The party wants to film the handover.
