moscow - The animations of new nuclear weapons that President Vladimir Putin used on Thursday to illustrate his militaristic speech are at least a decade old, say Russian media.
Putin held his annual speech for parliamentarians on Thursday, prior to the presidential election on 18 March. He used the opportunity to announce a series of new nuclear weapons that he claimed could reach every goal in the world without being intercepted.
One of the animations on a large screen showed a series of nuclear warheads that seemed to attack the American coast. Some media pointed out that the images shown on the gigantic screen during Putin's speech were taken from a documentary entitled 'Satan' that was broadcast on Russian channel Channel One in 2007, The Moscow Times reported.
