Protests Romania hold

bucharest - In the Romanian capital Bucharest on Tuesday demonstrated against the government for the eighth consecutive day. The protests focus inter alia on a controversial decree of amnesty for some forms of corruption. Although the government Grindeanu the decree Sunday officially withdrew, the protesters keep coming.

Estimated Tuesday were 8000 people walking in Bucharest. In the other cities went to smaller demonstrations. Sunday there were about half a million protestors across Romania.

President Iohannis Tuesday held a speech in parliament. He called on the government to resign.

Premier Grindeanu of the main government party, the Social Democratic PSD, stressed Monday that his government was democratically elected and only falls down when she loses a majority in parliament. The opposition will submit a motion of no confidence quickly, but observers say that this motion has no chance.
