- In several Brazilian cities have been protests erupted Wednesday after the appointment of the controversial former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva as the new minister in the cabinet of his successor and party colleague Dilma Rousseff. His appointment Lula avoids provisional prosecution because only the Supreme Court can prosecute ministers. The former president is suspected of money laundering.
