Protesters leave behind on UN mission

bangui - Protesters have at least sixteen killed at the headquarters of the UN mission in the Central African Republic (CAR). These were victims who were killed in fighting in PK5, a Muslim enclave in the predominantly Christian capital Bangui. Demonstrators blame UN soldiers for shooting at civilians.

Blue helmets and local security forces have been fighting with armed groups in PK5 in recent days. The fighting cost the lives of a UN soldier from Rwanda. Eight other blue helmets were injured.

The mayor of the district where PK5 falls, said that at least 21 deaths have fallen in fights. Hundreds of angry demonstrators went to the UN mission MINUSCA on Wednesday with the corpses. 'We do not understand anything about this. Does their mission consist of shooting at civilians? 'A demonstrator said.

The bodies that the demonstrators left behind were later taken away by the local branch of the Red Cross. MINUSCA has not yet responded to the accusations.
