Property tax increases in Amersfoort most

- Property tax increases in Amersfoort this year by as much as 10.7 percent. This is the strongest increase of all 36 major municipalities in the Netherlands. This emerges from a comparative study of the University of Groningen.


         Amersfoort is under the financial supervision of the province of Utrecht. The higher revenues from the property tax to the municipality hopes to get the budget in balance.
There is also a dozen large municipalities that reduce property tax. The strongest reduction of the property tax in Alkmaar, with 2.9 percent.
The waste disposal is reduced in eleven of the largest municipalities in Nijmegen by as much as 27.4 percent. The municipality chooses to move to spare tenants by charges to the owners. The cost of waste collection in the coming years are therefore increasingly covered by the property tax revenue and to a lesser extent from the waste disposal. The property tax increases in Nijmegen also 9.2 percent.
