Prisoners escape by tsunami

sulawesi - Detainees in a prison on Sulawesi have caused destruction and fire in the establishment when they were not allowed to search for family.

The unrest in Donggala, one of the first places on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi on Friday was hit by a tidal wave. In the chaos according to the local authorities at least one hundred of the 342 prisoners escaped.

The devastating tsunami followed half an hour after a powerful earthquake. Detainees demanded that they be granted leave to trace and help affected family. The prison leadership refused this, on which the riots broke out.

Images and reports from the news site Compass. com show that numerous prisoners have gathered in front of the burning device.

Because of the earthquake, the prison in the southeastern Palu was also destroyed on Friday. Since then, an estimated half of the 560 prisoners have been lost since then.
