Prince Laurent calls sanction 'disproportionate'

- Prince Laurent has responded via his lawyer to the Belgian government's proposal to reduce his annual allowance by 15 percent. The younger brother of King Filip calls the measure 'disproportionate.'

According to Laurent's counsel, Laurent Arnauts, the 'amount of EUR 46,000 corresponds de facto with almost the entire annual net salary of the prince', the lawyer told Belga. Arnauts points out that the addition is difficult to reduce because Laurent also has to pay staff, for example.
