harare - Emmerson Mnangagwa was declared the winner of the presidential election on 30 July by the constitutional court of Zimbabwe. Opposition leader Nelson Chamisa objected to the result and the course of events during the polls, but did not get the same from the highest judge.
After hearing the news, Mnangagwa called his rival to reconciliation in the interests of the country. 'I repeat my call for peace and unity once again,' said the Zimbabwean President via Twitter. 'Nelson Chamisa, my door is open and my arms are stretched out. We are one people and we must put our people first. '
