madrid - A judge of the Spanish Supreme Court ordered to release the president of the Catalan government parliament on bail. She comes free when the deposit of 150,000 euros has been paid, said a source at the court.
President Carme Forcadell (61) and five other regional politicians presented a statement to the court on Thursday. According to sources of the newspaper El País, Forcadell spoke about two hours. She called for the cry of independence by the Catalan government parliament to be 'symbolic'.
The court source told Reuters press office that four other regional politicians will be released after paying 25,000 euros. The fifth regional parliamentary may return home under no further conditions. Justice had asked Forcadell and three other politicians in provisional detention.
