President Mexico avoids US after 'uncomfortable' talk with Trump

washington - The Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto temporarily waives his planned trip to Washington. Peña Nieto would visit the US in February or March, but The Washington Post reports that the Mexican head of state postponed that plan after an uncomfortable telephone conversation with Donald Trump.

According to The Washington Post, Trump and Peña Nieto talked about 50 minutes last week about the wall that the US president wants to build to stop immigration from Mexico. According to a Mexican government official, the two Presidents disagreed and Trump lost his patience. US officials said Trump was annoyed and frustrated because Peña Nieto wanted his counterpart to publicly declare that Mexico would not pay the wall between the two countries.

Trump has always said that the neighboring country has to pay for the costs of building the wall.
