Power outage after storm in southwest France

perigeux - Severe weather in the southwest of France caused a power outage in hundreds of thousands of households. Storm and thunderstorms mainly affected the Dordogne department. There, in more than 110,000 households, the power went out on Wednesday. It was the most severe thunder in Dordogne in ten years, reported local media.

In the south-west of France, 136,000 households were still without power on Thursday morning, more than half of them in Dordogne. The electricity company has started to restore the power supply with all its might.

The main cause of the problems with the electricity supply is the blowing of trees. In the Corrèze department, a man succumbed to a heart attack after being wounded by a tree.
