london - The British police have more than two hundred people in the picture who may be able to testify about the poisoning of the former Russian double-spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia. The police also scrutinizes about 240 possible evidence.

Minister of Internal Affairs Amber Rudd said Saturday that 250 police officers are involved in the investigation into the assassination attempt. She said that the two are still in hospital in critical condition. Their condition is stable. They are probably poisoned with a nerve gas.

Skripal and his daughter were discovered on Sunday outside knowledge at a shopping center in Salisbury. Their poisoning evokes memories of the liquidation of Alexander Litvinenko. This ex-officer of the Russian security service FSB and predecessor KGB escaped persecution in his homeland by fleeing to England. In early November 2006 he became seriously ill and he died three weeks later. He appeared to have been murdered with the radioactive polonium that had been put into his tea in a hotel.
