Police retrieve 15 new rioters G20

hamburg - The German police have been able to identify 15 new suspects based on tips 15 who were guilty of violence at the G20 summit in Hamburg in July. Earlier this month, the police published photographs of people involved in the violence. That resulted in 228 tips so far, reports the German broadcaster NDR.

Eight identified suspects would have thrown bottles and bricks to agents in July. The other seven were guilty of looting according to the police. They have not yet been officially indicted.

During the riots in Hamburg, plundered and fired, among other things, caused about 12 million euros in damages. In the North German port city, the leaders of the 20 largest economies were together. Approximately 12.000 anti-globalists came to the rescue, about 1500 of whom used violence.

25 people have already been tried for their part during the disturbances. In 2018 there will be more than one hundred sessions, among which the appeal of the 21-year-old Dutch rioter Peike S. The judge sentenced him in August to two years and seven months in prison for serious physical injuries, serious trespassing and opposition to his arrest.

He had thrown two bottles to the police on July 6th after the demonstration 'Welcome to Hell'. Then he tried to prevent him from being caught and removed. The sentence of S. was a lot heavier than the prosecutor had demanded, namely one year and nine months.
