Police forms honorary guard for killed agent

theux - Hundreds of agents from all over Belgium have formed an honorary hedge at the farewell of the Saturday night at Spa Amaury Delrez. They all wore a mourning band and saluted when the funeral procession passed by.

The farewell of the 38-year-old father of three children was to follow on a large screen outside the church of Theux. A number of local police stations remained closed during the funeral.

Delrez got posthumously the Civil Cross 1st class for courage, dedication and humanity. That is the highest civil distinction for services rendered to the country.
