Police chief Slovakia is gone

World April 17, 2018 15:09

bratislava - The chief of the police in Slovakia was kicked out by Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini and has to leave next month. Tens of thousands of Slovaks had claimed the departure of Tibor Gaspar earlier this month because they did not trust the investigation into the murder of investigative journalist Jan Kuciak and his fiancée. The journalist wrote about corruption at the highest political level.

The Minister of the Interior Tomas Drucker had the police chief's hand over the head. But Drucker announced his resignation on Monday to calm down the situation in his country.

The murder of 27-year-old Kuciak and his girlfriend at the end of February caused a political crisis in the country. So far no one has been indicted in connection with this case.
