Police and military shot dead in Cairo

Egypt sees itself increasingly confronted with a wave of attacks by Islamist militants against security forces. It started in more remote areas of the Sinai, but is spreading towards the capital, and focus on goals that were previously considered safe such as tourist resorts on the Red Sea.
On Friday two gunmen attacked a hotel in the resort of Hurghada. In addition, three foreign tourists were injured.
- Armed men have sat in a suburb of Cairo killed a policeman and a soldier. The victims were sitting in their car at Giza, on the outskirts of the Egyptian capital.
