washington - The Palestinian Authority is appalled by the announcement by the US government that the office of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in Washington may close. The Palestinian top trader Saeb Erekat said that he received a letter from the US Department of Foreign Affairs on Saturday.
Washington is threatening closure of the PLO office because the Palestinians are trying to persuade the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague to investigate alleged war crimes by Israel.
According to Erekat, the pressure of Israel has led the Donald Trump government to close the PLO office in Washington. Erekat says the Palestinians end the communication with Washington when the PLO office actually closes.
