Platinum wedding Elizabeth and Philip: special portrait

windsor - Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip have posed for a new joint photo on the occasion of their platinum wedding at Windsor Castle. Photographer Matty Holyoak captured the couple in the White Drawing room of the castle, where Elizabeth and Philip celebrate family in the family Monday that they were married exactly seventy years.

The location for the photo was not chosen by chance. In the background are paintings on which King George III and Queen Charlotte are portrayed: the British royal couple that held the previous wedding record at 57 years. Elizabeth and Philip are already generously over there.

There are no public festivities for the unique jubilee. According to British media at the explicit request of the Queen (91) who also would not want to have much pressure. Elizabeth has already achieved many milestones in recent years. This year, for example, she was also queen for 65 years.
