JOHANNESBURG (Reuters / DPA)- Johannesburg in South Africa's Saturday landed a plane with 33 aboard lions. The animals organization Animal Defenders International released the animals from circuses in Peru and Colombia and let them fly to disable them in the Emoya Big Cat Sanctuary in Vaalwater.

The animals rescued in raids organization 24 lions from circuses in Peru. The other nine were voluntarily given by a circus in Colombia. According to an activist of the organization animals lions were severely mistreated. In most had been removed the nails and teeth degraded.
