People rescued from Cologne cable car
cologne - More than 100 people were stuck in Cologne on Sunday afternoon in a cable car that runs across the Rhine. The cable car was broken at 15.30 on Sunday afternoon. According to German media, a gondola was partly shot out of the guiding system.
Firemen from various German cities such as Düsseldorf and Aachen have been called to help the victims. That's not easy because of the windy wind.
Some of the people could be liberated with ladders, other victims being abducted from the gondolas. At 19.00 hours 43 people were freed.
The Kölner Seilbahn is one of Cologne's most popular attractions, because of the city's view.
