Panic about car with gas bottles at factory
chasse - A passenger car with gas cylinders near a chemical plant has caused major unrest in the south French Chasse-sur-Rhône. An enormous police force has gone to the place where alarm was struck south of Lyon.
French media reported that the owner of the Peugeot 406, a 27-year-old man, was arrested. The car with partially concealed gas cylinders is not far from a chemical plant of the company Finorga. An estimated two hundred residents have been evacuated. There are members of the explosive cleanup service turned on.
The authorities in the Isère department have announced that the nearby motorway A7 (Lyon-Marseille) is not yet closed.
