Art historians from the Mauritshuis in The Hague worked closely with the makers of the app on the project. To recreate the painting as really as possible, look-a-likes of the main characters in the painting were dressed in costumes from the 17th century and then scanned with a 3D scanner consisting of 600 SLR cameras.
