'Outbreak zikavirus worse than thought'

- The outbreak of the zikavirus in Brazil is more serious than imagined, because in 80 percent of cases, people have no symptoms. Brazilian Health Minister Marcelo Castro which said Monday in an interview with Reuters.

Castro says Brazil next week begins with the compulsory leave reporting the zikavirus by local authorities. Most places are laboratories able to test for the virus, which is spread by mosquitoes.

The zikavirus can lead in unborn children to brain disorders such as microcephaly. The skull is too small so that the brains do not develop properly and the child may be handicapped.

According to Minister Castro there are now 3,700 confirmed and suspected cases of newborns with brain abnormalities in Brazil.
