Opposition Belgium wants urgent debate about eggs

brussels - The Flemish opposition parties Green and Sp.a want to feel the federal government in a hurry about how the authorities tackle the crisis over the infected eggs. Left-wing opposition parties demand that the Federal Food Safety Agency (FAVV) clarify the number of contaminated eggs sold and consumed in Belgium.

Group leader Kristof Calvo van Groen showed Sunday that FAVV communication on fipronil contaminated eggs has so far been inadequate. Furthermore, it is unacceptable that the FAVV was aware of a Belgian poultry company that was possibly affected by a fipronil infection in June, but that agency continued for a long time.
