singapore - If the historic meeting between the American President Donald Trump and the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un continue, then the taxpayer does not necessarily have to go all the way. The International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) has offered to cover the accommodation costs of the summit, including the hotel costs.

The offer follows after a report in the media that North Korea could only finance the costs of Kim's stay in Singapore. ICAN received the Nobel Peace Prize last year and wants to use the prize money to bring the two leaders together.

Reportedly the suite of the hotel where Kim stays over 5000 euros per night. But according to ICAN, it is not about those luxurious costs. In 2017, the international organization received the prestigious prize for its work to draw attention to 'the catastrophic humanitarian consequences of any use of nuclear weapons'.
