

Nikkei index drops after North Korea missile attack

tokio - The Nikkei Index in Tokyo has fallen as a result of the missile attack by North Korea. The stock market opened a loss of 0.7 percent and dropped to 19,304.76 points, the lowest since May.
The wider compound Topix index declined by 0.5 percent to 1. 592.77 points.
The South Korean Finance Ministry says after consulting the Bank of Korea that it monitors developments in the financial markets 24 hours a day and works on a plan to stabilize the market if necessary.
