New Berlin airport will cost another billion

The construction of the airport is a huge headache file for Germany. The opening was originally scheduled for 2012, but has been postponed many times. The delays were caused by, among other things, bureaucratic red tape, technical problems and an alleged bribery scandal. The management of the project has also changed frequently in recent years.

The Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg Willy Brandt must replace the old airports Schönefeld and Tegel. The state has so far spent two billion euros in development.
