Nearly 90 killed by police strike Brazil

vitória - In nearly five days of strike by police in the Brazilian state of Espírito Santo, 87 people brought violence to life. Most of those injured in the capital Vitoria, authorities reported Wednesday. Espíritu Santo on the southeast coast is slightly larger than our country and has around four million inhabitants.

By the wave of crime that has unleashed the police strike, keep their doors closed schools and shut down public transportation. Remain closed some banks and shops. The police officers demanding higher wages. Talk about ending the strike Tuesday night yielded nothing, Brazilian media reported.

Like the neighboring state of Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo faced with enormous financial problems due to the continuing recession. The state is forced to drastic cuts. The state is the biggest oil exporter in all Brazilian states, but is suffering from the decline in oil prices.

The government has in the past weekend when the wave robberies, looting and killings began, two hundred soldiers sent to Vitoria to restore order.
