chambery - A man who is suspected in France of the murder of the nine-year-old Maëlys, who had disappeared in August, may have a second murder of his conscience. Prosecutor Thierry Dran announced Wednesday in the city of Chambéry that the 34-year-old Nordahl Lelandais is now also suspected of murdering the 24-year-old soldier Arthur Noyer.

The soldier disappeared in the night from 11 to 12 April south of Chambéry after a visit to a discotheque. His remains were found in a forest on September 7th.

The Maelys de Araujo girl is still missing every trace. She disappeared in the night of 26 to 27 August during a grand wedding party in the town of Le Pont-de-Beauvoisin to the west of Chambéry. Her disappearance has been keeping French media busy for months.

Lelandais claims to be innocent. But according to the police, he was both close to the girl and the military when they disappeared.
