Mugabe still president on Monday afternoon

harare - The president of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe, did not resign on Monday morning. His party, the ZANU-PF, had given him until noon to formalize his departure from the political scene. However, nothing has been heard of this in the capital Harare, where it is an hour later than in the Netherlands.

MEPs from the ZANU-PF are said to meet at 13.30 hours to see how 93-year-old Mugabe can be deposed. Mugabe lost after 37 years in power at the beginning of this month the support of his faithful. They dropped Mugabe when he put Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa aside in an attempt to appoint his wife Grace Mugabe as his successor.

Last Wednesday, the army actually deposed Mugabe and put him under house arrest. The armed forces try to move Mugabe in an orderly manner.
