Mueller shows evidence for Manafort's offense

World December 9, 2017 06:24

washington - Paul Manafort, the former campaign leader of President Donald Trump, has violated the rules of the judge because he has contributed to an opinion piece about his work for a Ukrainian political party.

Special prosecutor Robert Mueller, who is investigating Russian interference in that campaign, says he has 'irrefutable evidence for that.

With the 41-page court document containing e-mails, copies of documents and preliminary versions of the text, the prosecutors from the Mueller team say Manafort worked on an article to polish its image. The submitted piece appeared Thursday in an English-language Ukrainian newspaper.

As long as the investigation into the possible Russian intervention in the American presidential election lasts, Manafort is not allowed to publicize this matter. A judge decided at the beginning of this week that the house arrest of the former campaign manager will not be lifted for the time being. Manafort is suspected of conspiring against the United States and a series of financial crimes.
