Mother of three dies after horse's kick

roeselare - A mother of three children died after a horse's kick.

Sarah Desaever went to see a horse of her in the pasture at Westerlo in Belgium with a friend on Tuesday evening.

The animal was suddenly startled by a slamming tailgate of a truck.

Sarah first got a kick on the head and then one on the chest. She was helped out of the meadow by her friend, but then collapsed. She eventually died of internal bleeding in the university hospital in Antwerp.

'The doctors have tried everything, but the damage was too great,' says her brother Christophe to Het Nieuwsblad.

Sarah worked in home care. She was married to a Lebanese man and leaves three children aged 15, 12 and 10 years.
