moscow - Former US President Barack Obama as Moscow itself contributed to the use of chemical weapons in Syria. By threatening military action would be used as such weapons, according to Moscow he encouraged extremists to do so.

Obama said in 2012 that the use of chemical weapons in Syria for him would be a 'red line'. Then tried extremists and terrorists, according to a Russian UN diplomat in Damascus to bring the regime into disrepute by just deploy such weapons. They would have hoped for a military intervention to provoke.

The 'red line' Obama eventually led not to American airstrikes on Syrian government forces. After hundreds were killed in 2013 cases of attacks with chemical weapons, the regime consented under international pressure to bring under UN supervision to destroy the whole arsenal.
