- Human rights organizations Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International warn again Thursday for human rights violations as a result of the state of emergency in France. According to the organizations, the police abused its new powers more and more.

According to French law enforcement, there are more than 3200 raids on Muslims done and have been placed under house arrest between 350 and 400 Muslims.

,, France is responsible for public safety, but police used its new powers in a discriminatory and unjust way, '' says Human Rights Watch.,, This abuse has traumatized families, reputations tarnished and Muslims feel themselves second-class citizens. ''

After the attacks in November in Paris, French President Francois Hollande announced the state of emergency. This makes it easier for the authorities to place people under house arrest and to do searches without a court order.

The state of emergency is valid until February 26th. The plan is to extend that period by three months. Human rights organizations are against the extension.
