More than a million Dutch without Internet
- There were 1.2 million people in the Netherlands in 2015 who have never used the internet. Which is 8 percent of the population aged 12 years and older. According to research by the Central Bureau for Statistics (CBS).
Especially among people over 75 years old is the Internet minimal. A whopping 50 percent of these people have never used a form of internet. In 2012, that figure was 66 percent. The reason for not using the Internet for most of these people are quite simple: there is no interest in. Not these people are afraid to have the right technical skills.
A striking detail from the study is the fact that four out of ten people who do not use the Internet, do have a connection at home.
