More than 800 victims through Manchester attack

World May 16, 2018 12:45

manchester - The British police announced on Wednesday that more than eight hundred people suffered physical and psychological injuries as a result of the attack in Manchester, the BBC reports. The authorities previously spoke about 500 victims, in addition to the 22 deaths that occurred almost a year ago in the Manchester Arena.

On that day, Salman Abedi had a bomb explode during a concert by pop star Ariana Grande. A team of about one hundred detectives is still busy every day with an investigation into the attack. For example, more than two thousand witnesses have been interviewed, thousands of hours of surveillance images have been investigated and officers have been searching for eleven thousand tons of waste in search of a blue suitcase that the attacker would have used.

The authorities are still working on the extradition of the brother of Abedi, who is being held in Libya.
