Zika the virus was in the last century, first discovered in Uganda. The virus is transmitted by mosquitoes. Scientists suspect that the virus infects the uterus. Infants born to infected mothers are born with a skull too small, so they incur brain damage.
- In Colombia, more than 11 600 people are infected with the virus zika, among them 459 pregnant women. That made the Ministry of Health of that country announced. The virus is not dangerous to adults, but may lead to birth defects.
