More supervision in Belgian trains

brussels - In order to prevent aggression in trains in Belgium, supervision is stepped up. More safety employees have been traveling since the beginning of this week, especially in trains at late hours. Railway company NMBS has also requested reinforcement from the federal railway police.

The measures follow an action of rail personnel with the hashtag #StopAgressiesNMBS. The company supports the campaign and says it will check more often and on a larger scale.

'Unfortunately, some fellow travelers sometimes go a step too far with verbal or physical violence', tweeted NMBS director Sophie Dutordoir. She makes an appeal to stop the aggression. 'We will also sharpen the guidance on our part. '
