More musicians complain Spotify in USA

- Streaming service Spotify is in the United States for the second time in a short time sued for copyright infringement. Songwriter Melissa Ferrick claims on behalf of a group of musicians converted approximately 183 million euro of the Swedish company.


         According to the Los Angeles Times claims that Spotify Ferrick reproductions of parts of her music, as the lyrics and background music used without their thereof to inform and to request a license. Ferricks songs would Spotify 'about a million times' streamed unlicensed, reads the indictment.
In late December dragged another songwriter Spotify already in court, along with more than a hundred colleagues. David Lowery, frontman of the bands Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven, argues that to listen to the streaming service several songs which he holds the copyright. Lowery would however not paid for it. As Ferrick he demanded a large sum of money; more than 137 million euros.
A Spotify spokesman said in response to the first complaint that the company is doing everything right holders 'to the last penny' to pay off. Unfortunately, we have, especially in the US, often not all of the wrong data to determine who the owner is , he added. We keep the royalties separately until their identity is known.
