More demand for bunkers

More demand for bunkers

World May 3, 2017 13:33

- An American company that builds bunkers says that demand for underground shelters has increased dramatically.

Since the nuclear threat of North Korea, orders have flowed. That claims Ron Hubbard, for seven years owner of Atlas Survival Shelters. Its factories are in Dallas, Los Angeles and Mexico, and on average they make around 40 to 50 big bunkers- which can be sheltered by families- a year for individuals. There are also mini units and there are 3 to 5 of them every day.

Prices vary. You pay $ 25,000 for the smallest model (2.5 x 2.5 meters), suitable for 1 to 2 people. This protects against nuclear, chemical or biological attacks, tornadoes, earthquakes and fires. There is also a family model for 6 to 10 people for 150,000 to 2000,000 dollars. Then you are more protected from tree explosions. If you really want to unpack with 117 beds, size 2.500 square meters, the amount will increase to 1.4 million dollars.

'The news of tomorrow might be that the United States will attack North Korea,' said 55-year-old Hubbard. 'This is only the first real real threat I've heard. 'He said that in recent weeks he has been a lot more busy with applications from all over the world and expects to sell a thousand bunkers this year. He plans to open additional branches in Europe, Dubai and Australia next year.\n  \n   \n    \n    \n   \n   \n   \n      \n   \n     Photo: Ron Hubbard / MEGA\n    \n   \n   \n   \n      \n   \n     Photo: Ron Hubbard / MEGA\n    \n   \n   \n   \n      \n   \n     Photo: Ron Hubbard / MEGA\n    \n   \n   \n   \n      \n   \n     Photo: Ron Hubbard / MEGA
