charleston - Not the wind, but extreme rainfall is the biggest danger of hurricane Florence, warn US authorities. Because the hurricane does not move quickly over land, extreme rain can fall. In some places in North Carolina the National Hurricane Center expects up to 60 centimeters of precipitation.
The extreme rainfall caused by the Category 4 storm will probably lead to heavy flooding on Thursday and Friday. In large areas the power will probably fall out for a few weeks. Possibly the strength of the storm above the sea increases.
