Millions without water in Chilean capital

santiago - By storms and landslides are in the Chilean capital Santiago four million people without water. The Maipo River is so polluted as a result of the natural disasters that it is temporarily not suitable for water extraction.

The population has to rely on bottled water and the authorities have ordered that restaurants and businesses must remain closed. Schools do not open, according to the BBC.

Emergency services reported that the water flushes the mountain range of the Andes, have blocked roads and concluded thousands of people from the outside world. At least four people died in the floods.

Chile suffered still by months of drought and large wildfires.
