Microsoft, Facebook lay cable to Europe
redmond - Microsoft and Facebook go together lay an undersea data cable in the Atlantic Ocean. Who comes from Virginia Beach in America and Bilbao to lie in Spain, a distance of 6600 kilometers. The construction started in August and should be completed in October 2017.
The cable Microsoft and Facebook want to offer their customers fast online and cloud services. The cable should have a bandwidth of 160 terabytes per second. Microsoft has the connection needed include users of Bing, Office 365, Skype, Xbox Live and Azure. Facebook wants to utilize the speed of the cable for video, which are becoming increasingly important.
Microsoft and Facebook have not disclosed how much the cable Thursday, Marea called, will cost.
