Mexico may drug lord 'El Chapo' extradition

- Mexican judge on Monday decided that Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzmán may be extradited for trial to the United States. The drug lord, leader of the notorious Sinaloa cartel, was last weekend already transferred to a maximum security prison in Ciudad Juarez near the US border.

When he can be brought effectively in the US is not yet known. According to a source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the final extradition can show still several weeks away. De Guzmán was arrested again in January, after being escaped in July 2015 from a high-security prison.
